Despite significant gains in energy efficiency over the past several decades, U.S. demand for energy is expected to increase 9% by 2035, according to one government estimate. With that in mind, lawmakers have introduced legislation to bolster energy savings. But even with bipartisan support, these measures are seen by many as having little or no chance of enactment. Kateri Callahan, president of the Alliance to Save Energy, will address how this proposed legislation will improve energy efficiency measures.
